'Merman' found in Teluk Bahang

Photos of a 'merman' has been circulating on the Internet recently. It was supposedly caught by a fisherman in Teluk Bahang beach in Penang. The 6 photos of the creature, taken from various angles, were attached to an email titled "Teluk Bahang Fisherman Found This! Newspaper Not Allowed To Publish?" When a reader forwarded the email to a local Chinese newspaper, the Department of Fisheries was contacted to find out more about the creature. An official from the department said that they had not received any reports about the odd catch, nor had they ever heard anything about such a creature. He requested that the photos of the creature's body be forwarded to his department so they could verify the incident.

The creature is vaguely humanoid in shape, its body is roughly the length of an adult man, with two long fins that resemble large ears on its head. It also has two arm-like projections, and is covered in gleaming scales. Did this creature really turn up in Teluk Bahang, or is this just a clever hoax? The photos certainly look real. If they are fakes, then a lot of skill and effort must have gone into making them.

Footnote: After searching through the internet, I found out that the pictures were actually from eBay. The seller in eBay claims that the creature was found in Fort Desoto Beach in Florida. The seller's id is seamystery. The bid was closed on July 06. The circulation of the pictures in Malaysia only started in August. So this explains that the creature was never found in Teluk Bahang. However, the question still lies as in whether the creature is real or fake. The winning bidder is mysterymuseum. His feedback on eBay was "REAL GOLDEN Mermaid - A Million Dollar Attraction - MYSTERYMUSEUM.COM-A++++"

Wow.. I have never seen this before. I'm pretty sure its fake especially because it turned up on eBay. But I must agree it is a rather elaborate one at that.

That thing sure is ugly. Looks like salted fish.

It looks kinda 'whitish' for any type of fish in the ocean.

i believe that this was a computerised picture. as would there be anyone who really have the guts to actually carry the mermaid and turn it (back facing the sky) and continue taking pictures? (initially was face facing upright?) and wont the ''hands'' break due to pressure?

1.dried fish actually looks like that,
2. whitish because scales exposed to oxygen thru amount of time tend to do that, because of the salt (i think)hey! im no rockect sceintist! but i dry fish though
3.scales signifies IT IS A FISH, not a mammal, (i think)whales, dolphins ect.. mammal
4.why with large fangs?are they really that primitive?considering they've been hiding from us,i mean i think there smarter than that than to have those teeths on,(they have hands y'know, get the point)
5.if its a fish why is it resembles a human lungs with ribs, only a nose? c'mon!!! no gills??
5.so its really a complex evolution right? scales with human resemblence?human laying eggs?ewww!
6.umm how does it breed? where are the organs for that?

y know what i really think? i think that came from another planet, dont ask me why!!(OR FAKE for short)

Merman huh~ it looks hideous...there are sure loads of creepy creatures out in the deep...its still consider fake unless they actually preserve the body in famous museums or had the qualified and proven by the pros...just my opinion though...

Its a fake. Its was created by the artist Juan Cabana and named it 'O Cruel Sea' she uses real human skelitans and real fish skin, bones and teeth (from several animals). She has many similar pieces of art work. Google her name and you'll see heaps of her strange and interesting art. Ash :D

I don't know, guys. This looks off. I mean the body looks like its made of plastic if you look hard enough at it. And those teeth. Those are way too big to live with. Even if you do live in the sea. It cant even close its mouth! Those eyes look fake too. Don't they? But hey, it could be real. I mean, I know nothing about mermaids. I call a hoax though.

I do accept as true with all of the ideas you've presented in your post.
They're really convincing and can definitely work.
Still, the posts are too brief for beginners.
Could you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time?

Thanks for the post.
